This is a pretty good episode. Joe is wondering out in the desert again, while Ben is left behind with a very bad man. Whenever they get stranded in the desert Joe's the one who has to go get help. He has no water and it's hot out there. He should not only take off his jacket but go shirtless as wel...
I notice a lot of time various locations look exactly like the Ponderosa. Even some of their friends had the same floor arrangements and even that Indian painting in Joe's room appears in someone else's living room or in a bar. They must have a run-off of those paintings! :rotfl
Kathie Browne is usually a terrific actress but I don't care for her in these episodes. She seems a bit ditzy to me in these. I don't feel the passion between her and Adam. Maybe because of the problems Pernell himself was having with the producers. I usually watch to see if I'm wrong but end that I...
That is a lot of 'pa's in there. I think part of it was that Lorne was too young to be his and Dan's pa. It worked for Mike just fine since he always called Lorne 'pa'.
In most episodes Joe was born on the Ponderosa but in The Storm Joe said he was born in New Orleans and even made mud pies with Laura! They all must have lived there for a few years, at least in The Storm. The writers never get their facts straight. :rotfl
I don't enjoy this ep, an ep of Chinese whispers with rumours of the railroad coming to town. I hate the music, it sounds very off-key and tinny to me. :no I wondered why Adam was on his way with such an enormous herd when they didn't actually have enough land to put them on! Bit of a risky busines...
The steering guy probably had a small steering wheel or lever to make sure the wagon stays on the road. Michael said in an interview that all of them had to be trained on driving a wagon. I love the ending when the bully boy tells Joe to toss those boots over to him and Joe tells him to come and get...
I like the episode, especially how well Michael and Victor French worked together. I could see them becoming friends and working together in the future. I don't like Sandy Duncun's part in this. That was just a stupid way to fill in part of the episode. :shrug
