Re: Episode 315 - YONDER MAN

This was on INSP early this morning. I hadn't seen it for a while so I enjoyed watching it again. I love the beginning when Beaudry tricks Joe and takes off with Cochise. Candy wanted to take Beaudry to jail but Ben was thrilled to see Beaudry and laughed when he found that he pulled that trick on J...

Re: Episode 253 - A BRIDE FOR BUFORD

Do you think so? I suppose it was, in a way. Women should be treated the same as men. In the 1860s, though, there were very patriarchal attitudes. Women were controlled more by society, but sometimes they were treated more gently. I guess I've answered my own question! Yes, of course, they couldn't...

Re: Episode 6 - THE JULIA BULETTE STORY

Great over-view of The Julia Bulette Story, Boon! In real life, Joe Cartwright would have been too young to have met the real Julia Bulette. I could understand the people of Virginia City not being welcome to Julia, even though she gave a lot to helping others. Joe was supposed to be playing a 17yr....

Re: Episode 5 - ENTER MARK TWAIN

Howard Duff was a really good actor and did a great job as Mark Twain, aka Samuel Clemins. There's an episode of The Virginian that has both Howard Duff and his wife Ida Lupino in it.They both also played on Wagon Train together. :thumbup

Re: Episode 1 - A ROSE FOR LOTTA

Good review of our first glimpse of the Cartwrights! At the time, all four of the actors weren't happy with the episode and didn't think the show would last more than a few months! One the actors put more of themselves into their roles, instead of following David's script the show started to increas...

She is flashing quite a bit of leg there for that time period. Most women used side saddles and even split skirts were made to cover their ankles! :whistling

Re: Episode 259 - JUDGMENT AT RED CREEK

Watched this again today, I think it's a really good ep. It's clever the way the baddie sheriff convinces the others to go along with him and then Joe reconvinces them to side with him. I like the end, when they're going over the evidence, I think it's clever the way they work it out. Hoss says tha...

Re: Episode 256 - JOURNEY TO TERROR

he stops her from doing the washing up by telling her, 'you can do this work later', I notice he didn't offer to actually help her with it! You must know, the Cartwrights never had to wash their dishes, they had Hopsing. Remember how the Ponderosa looked when he was away in the episode The Auld Sod...

Re: Episode 138 - TWILIGHT TOWN

Saw this yesterday for the second viewing. The 'ghosts' voices were very echoey, which I thought was clever. Joe was wearing the sweat stained shirt right through the ep, so I guess it was all a dream, or else ghosts can't wash shirts. The sheriff's badge at the end was actually all rusty and bent,...
