Re: Episode 117 - ELEGY FOR A HANGMAN

In this episode Adam shows what an outstanding lawyer he could have been if he had chosen that path. He pursued his questioning in a very logical and methodical manner in order to bring out the truth. We all know what a strong sense of justice he has. And he also seems to have an instinct about wher...

Re: Episode 122 - THE ACTRESS

This episode may not be one of the best, but it has always interested me for one very particular reason...the revelation that Adam was friends with the famous actor Edwin Booth. Being very much a theater person, I am intrigued by the idea of that relationship. Since I noticed that there were a coupl...

Re: Episode 26 - THE AVENGER

And at the end there's a big ol' shootout and Ben and Adam just walk away, practically stepping around the bodies strewn in the street? I know it would be anticlimactic for the sheriff to say "whoa boys, we have to have a hearing before I can let you go," but this is the sort of thing that bugs me....

Re: Episode 56 - THE DARK GATE

That last scene with Hoss reaching out to comfort Adam is very touching, surely one of their best moments together. Adam is really put through a wringer in this one, being forced to kill a good friend. The scene where Adam holds Ross' hand as he is dying is a wonderful piece of acting on PR's part. ...

Re: Episode 7 - THE SAGA OF ANNIE O'TOOLE

It was so clever, the way Adam used the digging of the grave to argue that the requirement for working on the claim had been met. After all, there was nothing to say that a body couldn't be buried in an "exploratory trench" afterwards! :laughing There really was great chemistry between him and Annie...

Re: Episode 187 - THE FLANNEL-MOUTH GUN

Even though it's my favorite Cartwright who is featured, I've never been able to really warm up to this episode. For one thing, Adam seems so isolated and lonely; we don't even get to see him say good-bye to the family as they were leaving for wherever they went. And he is completely alone in opposi...

Re: Episode 175 - A DIME'S WORTH OF GLORY

I don't think Adam shoving Tobias in the saloon was serious enough to justify any charges...but the sheriff was very susceptible to Finch's manipulation. I appreciated the way Adam refused to let Ben bail him out so that the sheriff couldn't rough up the other prisoner again (or worse) without there...

Re: Episode 53 - VENGEANCE

What I like most about this episode is the way Adam is there to keep Joe from doing something that would ruin his life. He goes after Red Twilight along with Joe, insisting that they go no farther than forcing Red's confession. Later, in the barn, when Joe has Red by the hair and his gun ready, Adam...

Re: Episode 233 - HOME FROM THE SEA

This is the one episode I've actually avoided watching, specifically because I didn't like the basic premise as I had seen it described in TV Guide etc. The idea of someone invoking Adam's name to insinuate himself with the family just goes against me. The whole issue of Adam's absence was never dea...

Re: Episode 27 - THE LAST TROPHY

Belcher was thoroughly disgusting and boorish in every way. No wonder he made a cultured man like Marion, who also had a name he found odd, a target of his scorn. Adam certainly stepped into that situation smoothly. Beatrice had lost respect for her husband over his loss of nerve, which at least som...
