Re: The Virginian

I loved the opening scenes of them riding on the dirt road- it spurred me on to arrange to go to a dude ranch- first to a fairly local dude ranch in peekskill ny, (Rocking Horse) and then finally to the medicine bow mountains (Tie Sidings WY and Virginia Dale, Colo) and my friend and I played tv wes...

Re: The Big Valley - Family dynamics

wondered where they would have gone with the eugene character if Briles had not been drafted- as mentioned earlier, he was "cerebral", i think going to college to be a doctor? I had the impression Nick sometimes looked down on him (some episode about Gene's birthday and a calf and a saloon?) for not...

Re: Is this Chubb?

wow, Chubb before fame! Checked out IMDB and that episode was season 2 # 2 in 1956. "Fats" Jones must have felt the Gunsmoke horses were the best! Did I not read that Ben's Buck was originally Matt's horse?

Re: Is This Bob Miles?

for the HC episode according to IMDB there is an apache brave listed as Dennis Cross-he was also in a 1967 Bonanza episode as Monk in "A Woman in the House". If one googles Dennis Cross on images, there is a picture of him in rifleman that looks a lot like the one from HC as shown here.

Re: Lancer POD The Pilot Episode 6/24-29

was he actually married to each woman? Amazing how convenient it was for the wife to predecease the husband! Though I guess "in those times" woman did indeed tend to die before the man. I think a higher percentage of boy babies died during infancy but I think childbearing got a lot of the woman later.

Re: The Virgininan

Just got the season one dvd for the Virginian-and boy was it disappointing-NO CLOSED CAPTIONING-I really appreciate that feature on the Bonanza dvds- But loved the scenery in the gorgeous color-we did not have a color set until after the show started so I did not see some of the seasons in color. Do...

Re: The Big Valley

I like Eugene and was annoyed when he left the show- (he was always off to college)-later learned that he had been drafted, think it was army, in real life!
