Re: The Virginian

I don't have INSP or METV anymore but I still can watch The Virginian and The Big Valley on Youtube on my Firestick. I love those old westerns! :very happy Me too! The older I get, the more I am returning to watching the old shows. I have The Big Valley on DVD. I have some of the real old sitcoms. ...

Re: Episode 122 - THE ACTRESS

The lovely Julia Grant sure was career oriented, I'll say that for her! Don't know how devoted a wife she would have made for Joe. :whistling I can't fault her completely. She was ambitious and went after what she wanted. I sometimes wonder if this episode was written as an almost "inside joke" abou...

Re: The Virginian

Yes Adamant, it's on INSP! Don't know why I wrote Hallmark. I think I was watching some other western on that channel. I had no idea that The Virginian went through so many cast changes. I've been reading up on the show to familiarize myself with the characters. For years i used to think the show go...

Re: The Virginian

Just started watching this on Hallmark. Great show! I guess I have a lot of catching up to do because they are showing the episodes with John McIntire as the head of the ranch. We were always a big western family. My mom watched Bonanza, Gunsmoke, Wagon Train and The Big Valley. I watched most of th...

Re: The Big Valley

I know what you mean. The character of Evan was super nasty. He seemed to have no redeeming qualities whatsoever. When Jarrod started to read that laundry list of his past crimes, or as his dad referred to them , "boyhood pranks", I got the feeling that Evan was a true sociopath. He didn't care who ...

Re: The Big Valley

Yes that was the episode with Robert Walker, Jr. Why did you hate it? It's not my favorite, but it's okay. I just watched The Iron Box a few days ago. Those Barkleys sure get themselves in some dangerous situations. Just like the Cartwrights.

Re: The Big Valley

And sometimes I think they even copied episode titles. I just watched a first season Big valley episode entitled "My Son, My Son". The title always reminds me of the BZ episode when Ben is going to marry Katherine and her outlaw son Eden comes back to town. His criminal past ruins Ben and Katherine'...

Re: The Big Valley

There were many times when The Big Valley stole ideas from Bonanza. In the episode [sorry-forgot the title] when Heath first goes to the ranch he races a train and jumps the tracks exactly like Joe did on The Stallion! I loved both shows but many shows copied each other. :modeller You got that righ...

Re: The Big Valley

Nobody on those westerns sustained any serious damage as long as they were the series regulars. But if you were a guest star and got shot, well adios! Adam Cartwright was injured a number of times. But when Pernell Roberts guest starred in an episode of The Big Valley, I think it was "Cage of Eagles...

Re: Episode 82 - THE TALL STRANGER

I agree with all that's been said that Hoss didn't really put that big of a beating on Connors. Hoss could have. He could have killed him too, but deep down Hoss's hatred for him was tempered by his morals. He felt such disgust and contempt for Connors that he wanted to make him pay in some way. i t...
