I thought this was a great episode. Love how the entire town tried to gaslight Candy and the Cartwrights. I wonder if the town's name, Tin Bucket, means anything in particular?

Bath time again for Little Joe :tub

I re-play that bathtub scene over and over again! Joe does love his baths! Interesting episode. First the hides were all tampered with, Hoss was given something to make him appear drunk and crash the wagon, Joe is thrown in jail and Ben is almost killed when he discovers who tampered with the hides. A lot of action going on in this one. Ohhh-that bathtub scene!

Nothing wrong with a Joseph bath rub scene. He always looked good there.

As an original viewer, I thought I noticed over time if the writers weren't sure what to do with Joe that week they usually threw him in a tub, or some other body of standing water. Brothers were handy for this. I always wished Adam would do it a little more often - or join him for that matter. :tub :grin

Besides the fact that everyone gets a bath and shave and then puts on their same dirty clothes, the question was what happened with Candy after Ben sent him to VIrginia City to get a bank draft to return the next day (probably wasn't all that far from Tin Bucket)? They left the town the following morning before Candy returned.

Have been wondering about that Candy-thing too, why send him away urgently and then he does not even return in time to ride home together :no .

Apart from that this is a good episode with some interesting twists and turns. When I watched it the first time, as the episode unfolded, I didn't believe it could get any worse, only to find the next trouble coming along. The final scene in the barn is tense, poor Ben about to be lynched, and the the sherrif starts shooting it out; I though he would hit Pa any second by a bullet and was really glad when he was safe again.
