Marlyn Mason appeared on Bonanza twice: once as Tessa Caldwell in "Bullet for a Bride" and once as Abigail Klump in "Ponderosa Birdman." (She got to kiss both Joe and Hoss! )
"Bullet For a Bride" cap by Adamant
I enjoyed Marlyn's acting in both Bonanza episodes. She seemed to do both dramatic (in "Bullet for a Bride") and comedic (in "Ponderosa Birdman") well.
Marlyn was born in San Fernando, California, in 1940. She started acting at a young age, mostly on stage with the Players' Ring Theatre Troupe in Hollywood. At age 16, she began to take guest star roles on TV shows, including Laredo, Gomer Pyle, and Perry Mason, and has continued to act on TV up to the present day. Marlyn played quite a variety of characters, both bad and good. She was in a lot of musicals on stage and screen, including Brigadoon and Carousel. She was also on Broadway. She also acted in several movies during that time; her most famous movie role was that of Elvis Presley's girl in The Trouble With Girls in 1969. (Only three other women ever recorded with Elvis: Ann-Margret, Nancy Sinatra and Shelley Fabares.)
